Good news. We are re-starting running hands on BWA ‘mostly for beginners’ workshops for club members only.
First one:
When: Saturday 26th February 10:30 to 16:30 see Calendar
Theme: ‘Natural edge bowls and platters’
Where: Malcolm’s workshop.
Numbers: 4 lathes so 8 ‘students’ max
Tutors: Myself, Colin Burge, Jason Taylor and Les Alexander
We provide: Lathes & chucks. Access to my Pro Edge, a grinding wheel with Sorby universal jigs and a small Tormek with jigs. Free wood (greenish beech), tea, coffee and biccies all included.
You provide: PPE, Tools, BYO lunch
Cost: £10 per person.
Hopefully you will have time to turn both a natural edge bowl and also a platter.
We plan to run further workshops on the 4th Saturday in March and April. Venues and themes tbc. We are trying to link topics to the competition themes during the year to encourage less confident turners to make pieces for submission.
Suggestions for future workshop themes welcomed!
If we are oversubscribed we will run repeat sessions.
Please reply to me if you want to join in the fun! Joining details will then be sent out
The day will be about enjoying yourself whilst doing some turning with friends who will be doing their best to share their experience with you.
And if you are willing to host a workshop at your place and/or be a tutor then please let me know as your help would be much appreciated
Best regards
Malcolm Cleaver
