The Club has been greatly saddened to learn of the recent passing of Brian Attewell, Club President since 2021.
Brian joined BWA as a founder member in October 1991 and contributed greatly to the Club’s subsequent development. Driven by the enthusiasm of Brian and his colleagues the club grew rapidly and before long had a membership of 80 plus. Brian first joined the committee as “Catering Manager” aka – tea boy. His passion for and skill as a woodturner however soon meant that he became club chairman. A post he held for some ten years.
Brian was well known for his friendly, welcoming style. He was always keen to promote BWA and share his passion for turning. And always ready to share turning stories and life experiences with everyone he met.
Brian will be much missed.
