About Us
BWA – Inspiring Woodturners since 1991
Management of the Club
Berkshire Woodturners Association (BWA) is run on behalf of the members by a small but enthusiastic committee, supported by many other willing member volunteers.
The committee members are elected by the membership at the AGM, and stand for a two year term. They can stand for re-election when that term expires. The key roles of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are backed up by a number of other committee members who undertake specific roles like AV management, membership, external events and demonstration organisation.
The committee, which meets regularly, manages the club’s affairs in accordance with the Constitution. Members are always welcome to make suggestions, ask questions or comment on the club.
The committee members are listed on the Contact page.
Berkshire Woodturners Meetings
Club nights are on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. We meet at the New Priestwood Community Centre, Priestwood Court Road, Bracknell, RG42 1TU starting at 7 o’clock
We also have a monthly Zoom ‘Talking Turning’ on line session (1st Tuesday at 7:30). Where members can share and learn from each other about all things woodturning.
Membership
The club welcomes new members of all abilities and from all backgrounds. If you are interested in turning, please come to a meeting as our guest and see what turning is all about.
The club draws in members mostly from Central and East Berkshire, South Oxfordshire and South Buckinghamshire
The club is quite small so you get to know people easily. We are a friendly and very sociable group. Where possible we connect new members to longer standing ones who live nearby to mentor /buddy them.

Membership Fees
The annual membership fee is £55 (2026) payable by standing order or bank transfer in January, which also covers entry to all monthly meetings and demonstrations. These fees cover the cost of hall hire, demonstrator fees and other incidental expenses.
The club is an Associate member of the Association of Woodturners Great Britain (AWGB).
