April 2026 Master Theme 2nd – Richard Audsley
A delicate leaf, turned to a shallow platter and then cut to shape before having an oil & wax finishing treatment.

April 2026 Master Theme 1st – Paul Williamson
An unusual bowl, made from an awkward lump of Ash(?) turned offset to keep the natural edge. Melamine lacquer was used to give it the sheen.

April 2026 Master Open 1st – Harvey Grimwood
A variety of woods, including ebony and purpleheart, were used to create this ornament, which is finished with lacquer.

April 2026 Advanced Theme 2nd – Mark Savill
Created from a rough log, keeping a live edge and finished with micro-crystalline wax

April 2026 Advanced Theme 1st – Adrian Needham
A redwood burr was used to produce this striking bowl. It proved to be a very hard wood and produced lots of unpleasant dust. Oil was used for the finish.

April 2026 Intermediate Theme 3rd – Alex Simpson
Coloured stains and micro-crystaline wax was used to finish this piece. The mushrooms feature a live-edge border.

April 2026 Intermediate Theme 2nd – Cally Oldershaw
Hard wax oil was used to finish this live-edge bowl in yew.

April 2026 Beginner Open 2nd – Alan Thomas
A screw chuck was used initially, then a tenon, before that was removed using a friction chuck. This sweet chestnut bowl is finished using Hampshire Sheen
